Modules of “organiseit”

organiseit ships with following modules…

organiseit – Main Application
This is the main application. It allows the storage of documents by tagging them with keywords and an appropriate document description that form the basis of retrieval from the organiseit database. It also facilitates the access of the documents in a secure multi-user environment.

Methods for storing the documents in organiseit database
Using the Addin buttons from Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).

  • Using the organiseit PDF Printer Driver
  • Using third party applications such as PaperPort that allows documents to be sent directly to organiseit from a twain compliant scanner.
  • Drag and drop from Windows Explorer.
  • Bringing the document into organiseit by using the New-File Menu option.

Methods for retrieval
Retrieval of documents from organiseit is supported by letting the user define their search criteria. These criteria could include:

  • Document or Folder Keywords
  • Document or Folder Description
  • Document by Date 

Search options can include “any part of word”, “exact match”, “is case sensitive” etc.

Secured Access
Users can access the data according to their access rights specified in the “Administration Module”.

Audit
Actions by users are audited and stored in the organiseit database in an encrypted form. Folder and file activity can be easily viewed through the audit logs.

Support for multiple databases
organiseit supports handling of Enterprise Wide Data by accommodating multiple databases.

 
COM Addins for Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

By using our Addin buttons, documents can be stored in organiseit in their native format, or converted to a PDF file.

 
PDF Printer Driver

By using the organiseit virtual printer driver, any document can be stored in organiseit as a PDF file.

 
Here-To-There

This allows the User to perform a keyword search by highlighting text from within any Windows application then clicking the Here-To-There button in the system tray or using the hotkey combination.

 
SendTo

This module allows files to be exported from organiseit to the SendTo options of the Windows Shell (Explorer) for example; documents can be sent from organiseit to Outlook and emailed as an attachment or sent to a User’s My Documents folder.

 
Administration Module

This module lets administrators create user and group profiles and allocate levels of permissions and rights to a particular user or group of users.

 
Import Wizard

This wizard permits third party data to be imported into the organiseit database using various formats thus reducing the effort to bring organiseit online.
